Why “Rescuers”?

The name isn’t a marketing gimmick. Website Rescuers started in 2006 because Gary’s IT-consulting customers kept turning up with the same problem: a website somebody else had built, that didn’t work, that nobody could explain, and that nobody could fix without a quote with a comma in it.

Twenty years on, that’s still most of what we do — though now as often as not we’re rescuing sites we built years ago from the wear and tear of a fast-moving web.

Most websites fail in one of a few familiar ways: they’re slow, they don’t work properly on phones, they don’t show up in Google, they cost more to maintain than they earn, the original developer disappeared, or nobody ever measured whether they actually deliver leads.
